Khapao celebrates 6th Foundation Day

Imphal, June 07 2026: The 6th foundation day of Khorirol Apunbagee Paosanapham (Khapao) was observed today at Loktak Hall, Manipur Press Club, with four writers honoured with literary awards for their contributions.

Former State Social Welfare Board Chairperson RK Nayansana, Khapao president MK Ellawar, former Imphal East Up-Adakshya and Mahila Kavya Manch Manipur president Kshetrimayum Subadani, and noted writer Khangembam Ibeton attended as presidium members.

Khapao secretary Dwijo Takhellambam said that the awards are presented annually during the foundation day to encourage writers and enrich the literary landscape of the State.

He added that the initiative will continue in the coming years.

During the event, the Khagembam Gourachand and Tamini Ningshing Mana 2024 was conferred on Niranjan Usham for his poetry book "Manipur Koubi Ima o", while the 2026 award went to Inaobi Huirem for "Leijage nanakta Ima Manipur" .

The Khorirol Apunbagi Paosanapham Mana 2025 was awarded to Thounaojam ningol Janki Leima for "Amamba Ahing gi Nungshiraba Meira", and the 2026 award to Jiban Moirangthem for "Nungshi wakhal da.." .

Each award carries a citation, shawl, and a cash prize of Rs 10,000 .
