THE INTERNATIONALLY renowned film maker of Manipur, Aribam Shyam Sharma has been invited to enthrall the galaxy of film giants from all over the world with four of his award winning films at the International Film Festival to be held at Thrissur in Kerala from 9 to 13 January, 2009 .
Festival Director, Sunny Joseph has requested Shyam Sharma to screen four of his films, namely Ishanou, Sanabi, Yelhou Jagoi and Rajarshi Bhagyachandra in the Masters of Indian Cinema Section of the festival before the international audience.
Khun Joy, Secretary of Roop Raag, in a press release informed that Shyam Sharma has also been invited to screen his Rajarshi Bhagyachandra at the Spirit of the North East to be held in New Delhi from January 10 to 18 organised by Indira Gandhi National Centre for Culture.
He has also been requested to deliver a special lecture on "Manipuri Vaishnavism" at a gathering of scholars, cultural activists, historians, noted film makers and so on after screening the film.
On top of all these, he has also been invited to screen Ishanou at the "Dances on Camera Festival" to be held on January 17 in New York (US) organised by Lincoln Film Centre and others.
To participate in all these programmes, Aribam Shyam Sharma would be leaving Imphal on January 8 .
