Voluntary blood donation awareness drive held at Khongnangthaba University

The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Manipur State Branch, conducted an awareness programme on 'Voluntary blood donation' today at Khongnangthaba University.
The event was organised in association with the College of Nursing, College of Pharmacy, Kangleipak Medical and Nursing Institute, and Khongnangthaba University.
The programme aimed to promote safe, regular, and voluntary blood donation while encouraging students, faculty, and the.
public to embrace humanitarian service.
Prof N Ibotombi, Controller of Examinations, Khongnangthaba University; Thounaojam Joyshree, Principal, College of Nursing, Kangleipak Medical and Nursing Institute; and Narendra Ningomba, Chairman, IRCS Manipur State Branch, graced the event as presidium members.
Dr A Nabachandra, general secretary, and Dr Th Bakimchandra, secretary, IRCS Manipur State Branch, stressed the role of voluntary donation in strengthening public health.
Speakers highlighted that voluntary donors are crucial for ensuring timely availability of safe blood during emergencies, surgeries, accidents, and maternal complications.
They urged students to dispel myths about blood donation and participate in future drives, noting that educational institutions play a key role in fostering humanitarian responsibility.
The programme ended with a vote of thanks by Dr Laishram Imoba Singh, HOD, Management Department.
