NWU and Naga apex CSOs to observe International Day of World's Indigenous Peoples

The Naga Women's Union (NWU) in collaboration with Naga apex Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) and their subordinate units, will observe the International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples on August 9, 2025 .
The event will be held under the theme "Indigenous Peoples and AI: Defending Rights, Shaping Futures".
The event is sponsored by the Asia Indigenous Peoples Pact (AIPP) .
An invitation issued by Angumei Hoibila, General Secretary of NWU, called for the presence of members of all units and subunits of the Women's Union, the United Naga Council (UNC), All Naga Students' Association Manipur' (ANSAM), and the Naga People's Movement for Human Rights-South (NPMHR-S), among others.
The programme is scheduled to be held at SM Sha Hall, Tahamzam (Senapati) from 10.30 am onwards on Aug 9 .
Key speakers will include Chingya Luithui, member of NPMHR, who will serve as the resource person.
Nepuni Piku, chairperson, Morung for Indigenous Affairs & Justpeace, and Joyson Mazamo, convenor of NPMHR (S) will be the panellists in a panel discussion, and Isaac Charenamai and Raingambou Chawang will be the rapporteurs during the occasion.
