Units of organic company inaugurated

Noney, June 05 2024:
A processing unit, customer hiring centre, aggregation unit and solar drying unit of Taosuam Organic Farmer Producer Company Limited were inaugurated by Mission for Integrated Development of Horticulture (MIDH), Department of Horticulture & Soil Conservation, mission director Chungong Pamei at Luangchum, Awangkhul Part-2 Village in Noney district on Wednesday.
The inauguration programme was attended by Company chief executive officer Gaisangam Kamson, DSSS director Dominic Kanmi along with reverend T S Dominic, Luangchum village authority chairman Guikhamlak Kamei, Haochong MSRLM block mission manager Wilson Kamei and representative of Bindi International Association, (Rajasthan) Shivraj Singh.
In his inaugural speech, Chungong Pamei called for efficient use of resources and infrastructure and advised the farmers to maintain proper documentation with timely submission of reports to authority concerned.
The government is ready to help and promote the progressive farmers for the upliftment of their livelihood, he assured.
Meanwhile, CEO Gaisangam expressed hope that the processing unit will provide better facility and benefit the farmer community in farming and marketing.
It will also enhance better economic activity and sustainable livelihood, he added.
The inaugural programme was attended by various farmers' interest groups and Self Help Groups of Noney district.
The project has been undertaken under Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region - Phase-III and implemented by Manipur Organic Mission Agency (MOMA) focusing on turmeric and chilli cultivation.
