Imphal, December 04 2025: The lamp lighting and oath taking ceremony of the 7th batch BSc nursing students of Shija Academy of Nursing (SAN) was held today at the auditorium of Shija Academy of Health Sciences (SAHS) in Langol.

The ceremony marked the initiation of the newly admitted students into the noble profession dedicated to the service of humanity.

The ceremony was graced by dignitaries, including Dr Kh Palin, Chairman cum Managing Director, Shija Hospitals and Research Institute (SHRI); Haorongbam Chandrasakhi, Nursing Superintendent, District Hospital Thoubal; Dr Kh Chetan, Joint MD, SHRI; Dr Ch Babita, SAN; and Dr B Gokulchand, Shija Foundation.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kh Palin highlighted the key role of nurses in developing the healthcare sector and added that the people should acknowledge the contributions and sacrifices made by the nurses.

He also urged the students who are stepping into the nursing profession to serve the patients with compassion & extreme care without any discrimination based on colour, caste or creed.

Altogether, 37 BSc Nursing took oath during the ceremony.
