AR celebrates Good Friday across Kangpokpi

Kangpokpi, April 04 2026:
Assam Rifles organised the observance of Good Friday at Manamjang, Thangjing Chiru and Wainem village in Kangpokpi district on April 3 .
As per an IGAR (S) press note, these events reflect the spirit of faith, solemnity and community harmony, bringing together Assam Rifles personnel, local residents and community leaders in prayers and commemorative activities.
The observances were conducted with due reverence to mark the significance of Good Friday for the Christian community.
Special prayers were offered for peace, unity and the well-being of the people of the region.
At Wainem village, the programme witnessed active participation from the local populace, including one Khumanchou Gonmei along with 32 women, 40 men and 23 children.
A total of 17 officials and troops conducted the proceedings, fostering close coordination and strengthening bonds with the residents.
Similar initiatives at Manamjang and Thangjing Chiru highlighted the commitment of Assam Rifles towards fostering mutual respect and goodwill.
At Manamjang, the event was attended by a strength of 57 individuals including children.
As part of the occasion, Assam Rifles distributed gifts which were appreciated by the local populace.
These efforts reinforced the organisation's dedication to service, compassion and inclusive outreach.
The events concluded on a solemn and positive note, with participants expressing gratitude for the efforts undertaken to honour the occasion in a meaningful manner.
