Imphal, August 01 2025: Two Meitei men who crossed Gamgiphai and Kangpokpi, were rescued by police from Mayangkhang in Senapati district.

Sekmai police station received information at around midnight today that one Nongthombam Arun Singh (45) s/o N Munindro Singh of Luwangsangbam Mamang Leikai and one Guruaribam Tiken Sharma (42) s/o G Tomba Sharma of Luwangsangbam Godown Maning Leikai were proceeding towards Kangpokpi in a car (Alto) .

The tower location of G Tiken was obtained immediately from the Commando OC, Imphal West and he was located at Mayang-khang area under Senapati police station.

Soon, the OC of Sekmai PS communicated the location of Tiken to Senapati OC Inspector Nehgoulin Kipgen who rushed to the spot.

The Senapati OC found both Tiken and Arun along with their car at the particular spot.

The Senapati OC then sent them back with escorts up to Kanglatongbi Bazar.

After verification at Sekmai police station, the two were handed over to their respective families at around 8.25 am today.
