Imphal, March 01 2025:
Security forces have taken swift action, dismantling Kuki militant bunkers at Mark Hill ranges and summoning Kuki village chiefs, in response to yesterday's attack on Meetei devotees at Kongba Maru Laiphamlen.
Photos and videos of the demolition have surfaced online, highlighting the joint efforts of Kangpokpi police and CRPF.
Images also reveal trenches at the site.
In a striking coincidence, the attack on the devotees at Kongba Maru Laiphamlen occurred just a day after Arambai Tenngol, a Meitei group, ceremoniously surrendered hundreds of wea-pons to the authorities, demonstrating their commitment to the ongoing peace initiative.

Even as the Government has been putting in renewed efforts to restore normalcy, the attack on Kongba Maru shrine sparked widespread concern, with many questioning the state of security in Manipur.
The incident occurred despite the presence of security personnel who were accompanying the devotees at the sacred site.
Notably, some portions of Kongba Maru Lai-phamlen under Sagolmang police station in Imphal East were also set ablaze by Kuki militants on June 6, 2023 .
Meanwhile, Manipur police have issued a stern warning to the Kuki Inpi-Saikul and Kuki village chiefs from Wakan Ridge and Mark Hills Ridge areas in Kangpokpi district, near Imphal East in connection with the attack on the Meetei devotees.
This warning comes after the Kuki village chiefs and the Kuki Inpi-Saikul were summoned by the police who warned that severe action will be taken up against them (Kuki village chiefs and Kuki Inpi, Saikul) if such incidents are repeated.
The dismantling of the bunkers and the warning to Kuki village chiefs comes at a significant time, as the Governor has recently appealed to people in Manipur to surrender looted arms and illegally held weapons by 4 pm of March 6 .
