Thoubal, February 01 2026: A one-day free eye camp was organised today at the Heirok Part-II Khunou Devi Mandop Leikai Community Hall.

The camp was organised by the Divine Nongpok Ningthou Youth Club (DNNYC) in collaboration with Dr Helena Eye Hospital and Institute, Imphal.

During the camp, more than 150 individuals were examined for various eye related problems.

Patients diagnosed with conditions requiring further surgical intervention will also be provided treatment free of cost, the organisers said.

Speaking on the occasion, DNNYC secretary Dr Thokchom Somorjit Singh highlighted the importance of eye health, stating that the eyes are among the most vital organs of human body.

He cautioned that untreated eye problems can lead to serious complications and stressed the need for early detection and timely treatment.

He also expressed gratitude to the staff of Dr Helena Eye Hospital and Institute, Imphal, for their support and cooperation in the successful conduct of the eye camp.
