Imphal, June 30 2026:
Assam Rifles, in close coordination with civil health authorities, launched comprehensive Pulse Polio immunisation campaigns across Tengnoupal and Imphal West districts from June 28 to 29, targeting children under five years to bridge healthcare gaps in remote communities.
The initiative commenced on June 28 at Moreh, Tengnoupal district, where Assam Rifles partnered with Primary Health Centre, Moreh, to establish a dedicated vaccination booth.
The strategic three-day campaign, running until June 30, systematically targets local residents and transit communities.
Security personnel managed the site, streamlined arrangements, and educated guardians on routine immunisation protocols to ensure maximum grassroots coverage.
Expanding the drive, a simultaneous campaign was executed on June 29 at the Unit Hospital, New Keithelmanbi Garrison, Imphal West district.
Working with a civil district health team led by Senior Medical Officer Dr Yaiwang Konthoujam and Medical Officer Dr Bishwanath, the joint medical team successfully immunised 50 children from New Keithelmanbi and neighboring areas.
Beyond administering life-saving oral polio drops, the campaigns sensitised parents on protecting children from preventable diseases.
The collaborative effort highlighted strong civil-military synergy dedicated to fortifying community health and resilience across Manipur.
