Man shot at for Rs 200

Imphal, March 30 2012:
A 60 years old man was shot at by some suspected Kuki militants for refusing a demand of Rs 200 on his way home after buying a young bull from Bijang village in Churachandpur district on Thursday afternoon.
The victim identified as Mangpi of New Zou village has been admitted to Soulmate Christian Hospitals in Churachandpur with a bullet on his left thigh.
According to police source, Mangpi was returning from Bijang village along with the bull he bought when the suspected militants stopped him and asked to give them Rs 200 .
They shoot him on his left thigh when he told them that he had exhausted all his money while buying the bull.
Identity of the suspected militants and the outfit to which they belong could not be established yet.
Meanwhile, a 48 years old man was admitted to RIMS hospital last night after he was stabbed by a knife over a tussle related with money.
The victim identified as Konsam Ibochouba s/o K Yaima of Takyel Kolom Leikai was stabbed on his belly by one Yumnam Sanamacha (34)
of Heinoubok.
Following the incident, local people of Heinoubok demolished the house of the accused who surrendered to Lamphel Police Station today.
Lamphel Police have registered a case in connection with the incident.
