Imphal, September 29 2026: An MLA elected in an Assembly election represents the entire constituency, not just the political party on whose ticket he contested, Lamlai AC MLA Kh Ibomcha said.

He was speaking at the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan programme jointly organised by Imphal East District Administration and the Lamlai AC MLA at Yorabung Khunnou Community Hall today.

The Abhiyan is being held across the country to mark 25 years of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's public service.

Stalls of 26 Government departments and banks were opened at the venue to extend benefits to the public.

Ibomcha said an elected representative belongs to everyone in the constituency.

Urging people to support development efforts, he said, "Don't view development works through the lens of who voted for whom.

Let politics be confined to elections, not public development".

He said various welfare works have been taken up since he became public representative, including repair of the non-functional gates of Dolaithabi Dam.

Once repaired, adequate water supply to the people will be ensured, he added.
