Medical camp organised for IDPs

On the occasion of World Hepatitis Day, the Assam Rifles organised an interactive session, health check-up and distribution of basic medicines for the residents of Internally Displaced Persons IDPs camp at Torbung village in Churachandpur district yesterday.
World Hepatitis Day is observed annually on July 28, to raise global awareness about hepatitis and encourage prevention, diagnosis, and treatment.
The interactive session, led by a team of healthcare professionals, educated the participants about the causes, symptoms, and risks associated with hepatitis, said a statement by the Assam Rifles.
The residents were also informed about the importance of vaccination, safe blood transfusion practices, and basic hygiene.
Following the session, a free health check-up was conducted, where residents underwent screenings for hepatitis and other health conditions and basic medicines were also distributed to those in need.
Assam Rifles is committed to providing healthcare services to the most vulnerable populations, including the Internally Displaced People (IDP) residing in the camps.
This event is a step towards creating awareness and preventing the spread of hepatitis.
The event was attended by 63 residents, who expressed appreciation for this initiative.
