Thoubal launches Pulse Polio immunisation campaign

Thoubal, June 29 2026:
The lntensified Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) campaign was launched in Thoubal district on Sunday at the Urban Primary Health Centre (UPHC), located at the CMO Complex, Thoubal Wangmataba.
The campaign was jointly organised by the District Health Society, Thoubal and District Family Welfare Office under the theme "Let the Victory Over Polio Continue with Two Drops of Life" .
Inaugurating the campaign, Deputy Commissioner of Thoubal Yumnam Robita administered polio drops to children and stressed the importance of timely immunisation to prevent diseases.
She appealed to parents to ensure that their children receive vaccines on time for their protection and healthy future.
The campaign, which will continue till June 30, aims to administer polio vaccines to children in the 0-5 years age group across the district.
Thoubal district has set a target of vaccinating around 22,000 children through 181 polio booths.
A total of 414 health personnel have been deployed in teams to carry out the immunisation drive.
The launch programme was attended by Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Thoubal, Dr KC Luwang, District Family Welfare Officer, Thoubal, Dr Khumukcham Trusty; Programme Manager of District Health Society, Thoubal, Ch Basanta, and other health officials and staff.
