Salaai Kanba Lup marks 9th foundation day

Thoubal, March 29 2026: Salaai Kanba Lup celebrated its 9th foundation day on Sunday at Thoubal Sabaltongba under the theme "Our Future," with a series of discussions highlighting key socio-political issues concerning Manipur.

The programme was attended by chairman of Salaai Kanba Lup, Leichombam Gopal; vice-chairman Leishangthem Inaocha; Angom Malemkhomba; and Ningomba Indralal as presidium members.

The event commenced with the hoisting of the organisation's flag led by the dignitaries.

During the first session, speakers deliberated on important topics related to the State.

Salaaicha P Ranjit presented an in-depth account of the political history of Manipur, while Salaicha Kangleicha Kha-Nganba spoke on land laws.

Salaicha Leishangthem Inaocha also addressed the issues surrounding the National Register of Citizens (NRC)and Census in Manipur.

The second session featured discussion on organisational matters and future activities of the Lup.

The session also saw the election of new office bearers, with K Khelen Mangang elected as secretary general; Sanasam Somananda as joint secretary and Longjam Bhusan assuming charge as secretary organisation, while other members will continue their respective posts until completion of their terms.
