Wushu player Naorem Roshibina felicitated

A felicitation programme for Naorem Roshibina Devi of Kwashiphai Mayai Leikai - who won a silver medal in wushu in 19th Asian Games held in January, 2024, presented Arjuna Award by President Draupadi Murmu and appointed as DSP (sports) by state government on March 26 - was organised at her native place Kwashiphai on Saturday.
The programme organised by Kwashiphai New Youth Club at its complex at Kwashiphai Maning was attended by Bishnupur MLA Govindas Konthoujam, Oinam MLA I Nalini Devi, Moirang MLA Th Shanti, Bishnupur deputy commissioner L Bikram, YAS joint secretary T Phulen Meitei, Khoijuman Kwashiphai Gram Panchayat caretaker chairperson Th Ahanbi Devi, Mothers Pride Academy, Kwashiphai co-founder and principal Kh Basanta, co-founder K Devendra and Kwashiphai New Youth Club executive L Bikeam Singh as presidium members.

Roshibina is the second daughter of N Damu and N (o) Romila Devi with one elder sister and one younger brother.
Speaking as chief guest after presenting a shawl and cash prize to N Roshibina, MLA Govindas recalled that former chief minister N Biren had played a major role in appointment of N Roshibina as DSP (sports).
While appealing to the public to extend their support in producing world-class sportspersons, Govindas also asked Roshibina to lead by example and build the careers of upcoming players.
Mentioning that others should get inspiration from Roshibina for her achievement of being 11 time national champion, he wished her to achieve more laurels for Manipur and India in various other international events.
DSP (sports) N Roshibina thanked her coaches and elders for guiding her, stating that the same helped her reached the level she is today.
She also stated that obtaining the position of DSP (Sports) from the state government has secured her a place in the state, and assured of using the opportunity to mentor aspiring sportspersons.
