DBC (Maram) students reach out to relief camp families

Imphal, August 28 2025: In a heart-warming gesture of solidarity, students of the Department of Social Work, Don Bosco College (Autonomous), Maram, currently undergoing their concurrent field work at Ramrei Village, successfully carried out a fundraising initiative in collaboration with the Ramrei Student Union, to support families staying at the relief camp located at the Community Health Centre, Nongada.

On August 27, the trainees along with the Ramrei Student Union, distributed clothes, stationery, and other essential items to displaced families.

This outreach aimed to provide immediate relief while also giving students practical exposure to community engagement and social work intervention.

Sharing her experience, one of the student trainees said, "Visiting the relief camp helped us understand the challenges faced by displaced families and showed us how collective effort can bring hope and support" .

The Department of Social Work expressed its gratitude to the villagers of Ramrei, the Student Union, and all contributors for their generosity.

The Department emphasized that such outreach initiatives are a crucial part of hands-on learning and community service.
