As part of the ongoing series of evaluative sessions initiated by the chief minister for an update on performances of various departments, a review meeting held on Wednesday examined progress of projects enlisted under the Imphal Smart City pending completion.
The review meeting, held at the chief minister's cabinet hall, centred on the MAHUD department.
Attended by MAHUD minister Y Khemchand and other senior department officials, the session delved into the intricate details of various Imphal Smart City projects managed by MAHUD.
The discussion figured both progress made and outstanding issues associated with these initiatives.
During the meeting, chief minister N Biren directed MA-HUD officials to expedite the completion of major components of the project, including the road stretch from Kangla Eastern Gate to Ananda Singh Higher Secondary School and the pending work on the Integrated Command and Control Centre (ICC), by allocating the necessary funds.
MAHUD officials reported to the chief minister that approximately 85 percent of the ICC construction has been completed, with only the fencing portion remaining.
Overall, they indicated that the project is nearing full completion.
The meeting also addressed the Property Tax initiative, which the minister is pursuing with considerable interest and commitment.
The final implementation of the Property Tax will follow the completion of a GI Mapping survey and its subsequent digital integration.
Additionally, MAHUD officials reported that delays in various Imphal Smart City projects are due to the current crisis and the recent parliamentary elections.
