JDO celebrates 28th foundation day at Jiribam

Jiribam, May 28 2026: Jiri Development Organisation (JDO) celebrated its 28th foundation day on Thursday at the office of Jiri Ima Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (JIMPAL) located at Babupara in Jiribam district.

The' programme was attended by social worker and former founder publicity secretary of JDO, N Budhachandra Singh; JDO president Elangbam Dewan Singh; founder general secretary Dr S Arun Kumar Mangang; founder vice-president Dr Th Somorendra Singh; and JIMPAL president Longjam Bimola Devi as presidium members.

During the function, the dignitaries were honoured with traditional Lengyan as a mark of respect.

The programme was formally inaugurated by chief guest N Budhachandra Singh through the ceremonial lighting of the lamp.

As part of the observance, the gathering paid tribute to the departed members of JDO by observing a two-minute silence in their memory.

The organisation also honoured journalists of Jiribam district by presenting gifts in recognition of their contribution and service to society.
