HD Foundation observes 2nd World Deafblind Day

Imphal, June 27 2026: The Handicapped Development (HD) Foundation.

Manipur, observed the 2nd World Deafblind Day and felicitated students at its Activities Centre, Lamdeng Mayai Leikai, on Saturday.

Social activist Wangkheimayum Richard, CRC-SRE Imphal Director Naosekpam Khoibi, HD Foundation patron member Chingangbam Chaoba, retired Ideal Blind School teacher Pebam Dhanjoy, and HD Foundation chairman Dr Sapam Jasobanta attended as presidium members.

As part of the programme, deafblind students who cleared Class X and Class XII were honoured with gifts to encourage them.

Dr Jasobanta urged the State Government to take necessary steps for persons with disabilities so they can integrate with the public.

He added that instead of feeling discouraged, persons with disabilities should strive to become better individuals, and everyone must work together for it.
