AR pays tribute to braveheart

Imphal, October 26 2024:
Assam Rifles under the aegis Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) organised a wreath laying ceremony for Havildar (General Duty) Late T B Thapa of 4 Assam Rifles who gave supreme sacrifice in the service of the Nation.
According to a release issued by PRO HQ IGAR(South), on October 25, 1956, a column of 4 Assam Rifles came under heavy volume of fire from insurgents while performing Road Opening Party duty at Mao-Tadubi, Imphal Road.
During the heavy exchange of fire, Havildar (General Duty) T B Thapa sustained a gunshot wound and succumbed to his injuries, thereby making the supreme sacrifice for the Nation.
Assam Rifles paid homage at the War Memorial to honour the braveheart who made the supreme sacrifice for the cause of the Nation.
The ceremony held at Mantripukhri on Friday commenced with the wreath laying followed by a motivational speech narrating the story of the braveheart.
A total of two Officers, four Junior Commissioned Officers and 38 other ranks of Assam Rifles paid tributes by laying wreath &'according Guard of Honour.
