Kom villages sign pact with FoH

Imphal, September 24 2024: Aftermath of the firing on Meetei villages by Kukis on September 22, Litan, Tonsen Khulen, Tonsen Tampak and Mahou Tera Kom villages signed a pact with Federation of Haomee (FoH) .

Federation of Haomee held emergency meetings with headmen and representatives of Litan Kom village on Monday and of Tonsen Khulen, Tonsen Tampak and Mahou Tera Kom on Tuesday.

After threadbare discussions, village headmen and representatives of Litan, Tonsen Khulen, Tonsen Tampak and Mahou Tera Kom villages agreed to abide with the condition that in case of spotting movement of unfamiliar persons within the jurisdiction of their villages with ulterior motive to harm the nearby inhabitants of Meetei villages, they shall promptly inform FoH and if the village concerned fails to adhere to agreement any penalty initiated shall be duly accepted.

Moreover, if anyone from amongst the villages connives in terror acts, then the village authority concerned would take stringent actions, including expulsion of the individual in case of repeat offences, the declaration added.
