Imphal, June 24 2026:
The Nongpok Ningthou Pakhangba Transport Co-operative Society Ltd has appealed to other societies and associations not to obstruct operations at MU Gate, its officially allotted business area.
In a press release issued after a meeting at its office in Mongsangei on Wednesday morning, the society said the Manipur Government has clearly designated MU Gate, Tampha Bazaar, Canchipur, as its operational area.
It noted that some individuals and associations have been creating disturbances by parking vehicles at the site.
To clarify the matter, the society had filed a case in the High Court of Manipur.
The Court ruled that MU Gate, Tampha Bazar is the designated area of Nongpok Ningthou Pakhangba Transport, and directed concerned departments accordingly.
Despite the order, South East Jeep Taxi Transport Cooperative Society continues to park vehicles at MU Gate instead of its allotted Heijingang Bridge site, disrupting regular services, the release claimed.
The society urged all departments and individuals to comply with the Government and Court orders and to prevent unauthorized vehicles from operating as "MU" services.
Chief guest M Dineshwar, International Awardee, warned that if departments delay implementation or disregard the High Court order, the society will file a contempt of court petition.
He affirmed support for members who depend on transport work for livelihood and appealed to officials, including SP Imphal West and Singjamei PS, to enforce the order without delay.
