Good Governance Week observed in different districts

District administrations organised workshops on Good Governance Initiatives and camps as part of the Good Governance Week - Prashashan Gaon Ki Ore in different districts of the state on Monday.
Good Governance Week, celebrated annually from December 19 to December 24, ahead of the Good Governance Day commemorating the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, aims to promote transparent, efficient, and accountable governance.
It serves as a platform for government agencies to engage with the public, address grievances, and showcase initiatives that improve service delivery and public welfare.
As part of this campaign, the district administration of Bishnupur organised a one-day workshop on 'Good Governance Initiative' at the conference hall of the Mini Secretariat Complex, focusing on best governance practices from three sectors: education, health, and the Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM) .
Presentations included the School Fag-athansi Mission by the ZEO Zone IV, the Chief Minister's Health for All Scheme by the chief medical officer, and the formation of Self-Help Groups for Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) by MSRLM.
Deputy commissioner Lourembam Bikram highlighted initiatives such as the mobile veterinary unit, prepaid meter installation by MSPDCL, forest fire prevention, and digital revenue certificate issuance by the district information technology (DIT).
He emphasised the importance of local involvement in good governance and the timely delivery of services.
Additionally, a transgender certificate registration camp was held, registering 50 transgender individuals.
The ongoing Good Governance Campaign has seen the successful disposal of 780 applications and the conduct of seven workshops/ camps.
A cycle rally promoting "Fit India" was also held at Moirang.
Kakching district administration under the supervision of DC Rohit Anand, also organised special camps at the DC Office Complex to address public grievances and improve service delivery.
Various government departments, including social welfare, CAF&PD, MSPDCL, horticulture & soil conservation, and administrative offices like BDO Kakching, SDC Hiyanglam, and SDO Kakching, set up service stalls for the public.
These stalls offered services such as the issuance of certificates (income, OBC, domicile among others), job card registrations, and awareness campaigns on government schemes.
Financial institutions like the State Bank of India and the Manipur State Cooperative Bank also participated.
The event, which focused on public grievance redressal, was attended by district officials and DLOs.

In Churachandpur district, a workshop on Good Governance Initiatives was held at the DC's conference hall, mini-secretariat.
The workshop aims to share the various initiatives undertaken by different departments in the district.
DC Dharun Kumar S inaugurated the workshop and encouraged DLOs, SDOs, and other officers to be more proactive in addressing public grievances and ensuring efficient governance.
He emphasised the importance of sensitivity to local dynamics and a humane approach in grievance redressal while adhering to transparency and established laws.
The workshop featured presentations from the health department, education department, Manipur State Rural Livelihoods Mission (MSRLM), and SDO Mualnuam.
Chief medical officer Dr Vanlalkungi highlighted the health department's efforts, including the achievement of 100 per cent saturation in all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) in Lamka South Block, as well as the department's outreach to IDPs in relief camps.
The department issued health cards and provided immunisations and ante-natal checkups to IDPs, including 236 institutional deliveries.
Churachandpur ZEO Esther Chingneikim shared the education department's response to the ongoing crisis, including the distribution of textbooks and school shoes to displaced students and the establishment of coaching centres for displaced students.
The department also introduced sanitary pad vending machines and tobacco-free schools.
Deputy medical superintendent of Churachandpur District Hospital, Dr Ng Se-anbawi presented the public grievances redressal report, detailing the introduction of the Scan and Share OPD facility, which improves patient experience by reducing wait times and eliminating manual paperwork.
Additionally, SDOs reported that online applications for certificates have eased the process for the public.
Various departments also organised grievance camps at their offices, addressing several public issues.
