Imphal, August 23 2024:
Chief minister N Biren Singh has claimed that the Government of India (GOI) has done majority of the inevitable things for Manipur and left with only few things to be performed.
The chief minister made the claim while attending the state level Saraswat workshop organised by BJP Manipur Pradesh at Tham-bal Shanglen, Nityaipat Chuthek, here, on Friday.
Addressing party workers present at the workshop, N Biren commended the government of India for initiating border fencing,.scrapping of FMR and detection of illegal immigrants.
All the things done by the Government of India under the initiative of PM Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah are based on documents, facts and ground reality, he said, adding that issues such as upholding interest of the indigenous communities and protecting the state are already being looked into.
While appealing to party workers to have self-confidence to achieve the goals set, CM Biren called upon BJP workers to impress upon the people about projects and activities executed by BJP government in the state.
He further said that Central leaders are committed to addressing problems besieging Manipur and its people and also appealed to ministers and MLAs to ensure that the tasks mandated and welfare projects entrusted are expedited.
According to CM Biren, BJP had only two MPs in the Parliament at one point of time but now it is single largest and strongest party.
The state too is being ruled by BJP since 2017 but lost both the seats in the Parliament election held recently due to failure to work in sync with the situation.
Nevertheless, the vote share of the party in the election had not declined but increased from the past election won by Dr RK Ranjan.
The chief minister also claimed that whatever the BJP government did for Manipur was not done by other party which ruled the country for the past 30/40 years.
The workshop was also attended by BJP national leader Dr Rajiv Roy, who deliberated about party membership.
BJP Manipur Pradesh A Sharda Devi, ministers, MLA and party leaders also attended the workshop.
