Sainik School Imphal receives minibus under NHIDCL CSR initiative

Imphal, August 21 2026: Sainik School Imphal received a major boost to its infrastructure on Friday with the formal handover of a new minibus under the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative of NHIDCL, Regional Office Imphal.

The bus was handed over by Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh, Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West, in the presence of O Sarvanjit Singh, Senior Manager, NHIDCL RO Imphal.

The occasion carried special significance as Rajkumar Singh is an alumnus of the school.

Recalling his days at the institution, he said the values of discipline, leadership, character and service to the nation imparted by Sainik School laid the foundation for his administrative career.

He said he was proud to support a project that will benefit current cadets.

Receiving the vehicle, Col A Rajiv, Principal, Sainik School Imphal, expressed gratitude to NHIDCL, the Deputy Commissioner, and Sqn Ldr Sachin Kumar, Administrative Officer, for pursuing the project.

He noted that with limited public funds, the school has been facing infrastructure shortages and has turned to CSR support.

This is the third vehicle received through CSR.

A synthetic football field is also under construction with support from AAI, he added.

Col Rajiv said the new bus will greatly help in organising educational tours, sports events, leadership training and community outreach, contributing to the holistic development of cadets.
