Three KCP (MFL) cadres held, search ops continue

Imphal, March 21 2025:
Security forces arrested three cadres of KCP (MFL) from Lilong Chajing Mamang Leikai under Singjamei police station on Thursday.
According to a press note by Manipur Police Control Room, the three arrested cadres have been identified as Aheibam Gandhi alias Nanao (35), Thongam Naoba Meitei (21) and Ningthouba Momocha Singh.
All three are accused of involvement in extortion activities.
Police also recovered one four wheeler and four mobile phones from their possession.
Meanwhile, security forces continued to conduct search operations and recovered weapons from various places.
On Thursday, security forces conducted a search operation at Apunlok Canal in between Kangchup and Singda Kadangband under Lamsang PS on Thursday and recovered one SLR with magazine, one pistol with magazine, 10 cartridges, two 36-HE grenades without ignition set, two military helmets, two BP jackets, four local made iron BP plates and two Baofeng Wireless Handsets without batteries.
Another search operation was conducted in K Geljang and K Patbung villages in Kangpokpi district, during which security forces recovered two 7.62mm rifles with magazines and three rounds, one .303 bore rifle, one Local made Pistol 315 bore with magazine, one .22 air pistol with empty case, one pompi gun, nine rounds of 12 bore, five Baofeng Radio sets and three radio set chargers.
Security forces also conducted a search operation in Uchathol Mayai Leikai under Jiribam PS and recovered 100 Stardyne-901 (class II CAT-ZZ explosives) and 20 rounds of 5.56 mm.
Another team recovered five single barrel guns, one local made 12 bore rifle, one local made pistol, two pompi, six pompi bombs, one IED (remote and electrically initiated) and two gelatine sticks, from near the rubber plantation area of Moulzawl & Binselu in Jiribam district.
On the other hand, acting on reliable information, a combined team of Yairipok police and 105 Bn BSF stationed at Yairipok PS launched a massive search operation in Yairipok Gwarok hill from 7.30am till 8.35am on Friday.
The team used hand-held metal detectors to search the area and recovered one 7.6mm SLR with empty magazine, one 7.62mm SLR with empty magazine and 20 rounds of .303, wrapped in two gunny bags, from the spot around 7.50am.The incriminating articles were seized at 7.56 am by observing formalities.
