POWERGRID donates ambulance to IRCS Kakching

Kakching, August 20 2026:
The Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS), Kakching District Branch, on Thursday received an ambulance from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited (POWERGRID) at a handingover ceremony held at the Conference Hall of the Deputy Commissioner's Office, Kakching, on Thursday.
The ambulance was donated under POWERGRID'S Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) healthcare initiative, with the objective of strengthening community welfare and improving access to emergency medical services.
The programme was attended by Naorem Praveen Singh, Secretary (Youth Affairs & Sports/Art & Culture) and Patron Member of IRCS Kakching District; Angeline Renita R, Deputy Commissioner, Kakching and President of IRCS Kakching District; Surendra Kumar Majhi, Chief General Manager (HR), POWERGRID RHQ, Shillong; and Waribam Amarjeet, Senior Deputy General Manager, POWERGRID, Imphal.
Ph Bhavananda Shanna, Additional District Magistrate, along with officials and staff of the Kakching District Administration and members of the IRCS Kakching District Branch, also attended the ceremony.
The ambulance is expected to strengthen emergency response services, facilitate timely patient referrals and provide critical transportation support during the golden hours, especially for people living in remote areas.
The initiative is also aimed at contributing to community development and enhancing access to essential healthcare services for the people of Kakching district.
