'Stop Diarrhoea Campaign 2026' launched

Imphal, June 19 2026:
The State Health Society, NHM Manipur, and the Directorate of Health Services, Manipur, jointly launched the two-month-long 'Stop Diarrhoea Campaign 2026' today at Classic Hotel, Imphal.
The inaugural function was attended by Health Services Director Dr N Hemantakumar, Family Welfare Services Director Dr N Bino, Additional Director (Hills), Education (S) Dangmei, Social Welfare Joint Director N Binobala, State Mission Director, NHM Dr M Dinesh, and PHED CCD Director Rina Kh.
Addressing the gathering, Dr Hemantakumar said the campaign aims to spread awareness on the use of ORS along with zinc to prevent dehydration caused by diarrhoea.
He stressed that access to safe drinking water in every household is crucial to prevent diarrhoeal diseases.
Dr Hemantakumar further highlighted the need for coordinated efforts among departments to curb the spread of diarrhoea, urging intersectoral collaboration to ensure clean water, sanitation, and timely treatment.
The campaign will run across the State for two months.
