Wangoi Hr Sec students threaten stir over teacher shortage

Imphal, September 18 2026: Students Union of Wangoi Higher Secondary School has warned of launching various forms of agitation including class boycott if shortage of teachers is not addressed by September 21 .

Addressing the media at the school today, Union magazine secretary Longjam Roja Chanu said many teachers have been transferred since August 12, causing hardships to students.

The union had submitted memorandums to concerned departments seeking appointment of replacement teachers by September 2, but no action has been taken.

She said fresh transfer orders issued yesterday have raised apprehension that syllabus cannot be covered.

The union appealed to withdraw the transfer orders issued within 24 hours.
