'Art Unfading' opens in Imphal

Imphal, February 18 2026: An art exhibition titled "Art Unfading", featuring 20 paintings by artist Langoljam Shamu Singh, commenced today at the Imphal Art Gallery in Kwakeithel.

The exhibition is being held in connection with the gallery's second anniversary and will run until February 22.Robin Wahengbam, founder and director of Imphal Art Gallery, said the event was long overdue, aiming to promote Langoljam Shamu Singh's profound work and ensure future generations appreciate his art.

"Artists often get recognised when they are young, but overlooked later - it's disappointing", he added.

Visual artist Salam Anilkumar, who participated in the inauguration, highly praised Langoljam Shamu Singh as a very talented artist.

Anilkumar highlighted Langoljam Shamu Singh's frequent use of earthly colors in his paintings and his effort to portray the feelings in his heart whenever an incident occurs in Manipur.

Anilkumar stated that the qualities of a true artist are clearly visible in Singh's work and that such qualities are rare.
