MLA N Kayisii passes away

Former Minister and sitting MLA of 49-Tadubi Assembly Constituency, N Kayisii, passed away on Saturday at his Imphal residence following a prolonged illness.
He served as the minister for Tribal Affairs and Hills and Fisheries from 2017 to 2020 during the first N Biren Singh-led government and was re-elected as an MLA in the subsequent tenure on an NPP ticket.
Until his passing, Kayisii held the position of state president of the NPP.
According to reliable sources, he had been battling stomach cancer over the past year.
Numerous elected representatives, including the chief minister N Biren Singh, cabinet ministers, MLAs, and NPP party members, visited his residence to pay their respects and extended condolences to the bereaved family.
N Kayisii is survived by his wife and eight children - three sons and five daughters.
His mortal remains will be transported to his native village, Makhan Khuman, on Sunday, with the funeral scheduled for Monday.
