Mushroom cultivation trainings held to boost farmers' income

Imphal, September 14 2026: Two separate training programmes on mushroom cultivation were held in Imphal on Monday to empower farmers and promote self-reliance.

Indigenous Minorities Socio-Cultural Organisation Manipur (IMSCOM) organised a one-day training on mushroom cultivation at REM Colony, Langol Tarung.

KVK Imphal West's Dr Kangabam Suraj, All Manipur Progressive Farmers' Association (AMPFA) advisor Konthoujam Thoiba Meitei and KVK Imphal West Senior Scientist Sandeep Deshmukh attended as resource persons.

Speaking on the occasion.

K Thoiba Meitei said farmers have been playing a major role in improving the State's economy.

He said providing timely training and.

adopting modem cultivation techniques can make the State self-sufficient.

He also stressed on dignity of labour and supporting growers to strengthen the State's economy.

Meanwhile, RAMA Foundation, Nagamapal RIMS Road organised a three-day training programme on 'Mushroom Cultivation Technology' from September 12 to 14 .

The programme saw participation from five districts of Manipur.

Regional Achiever Awardee Soram Rajendra Kumar served as resource person and imparted scientific methods through slide presentations, videos and a field visit for hands-on learning.

Freshly cultivated mushrooms were distributed to attendees and certificates were given on completion.

The Foundation said the objective was to empower individuals for income generation and improved quality of life.
