Imphal, September 14 2025: Lions Club of Imphal celebrated Teachers' Day 2025 at its Service Centre, Sangaiprou by honouring four retired teachers in appreciation of their exemplary and selfless service in shaping the lives of students of the State.

As per a release issued by Lions Club of Imphal, Ngangbam Amumacha Singh, retired Joint Director (Science & Technology), Education (S);.

Soram Lokeshwar, retired Selection Grade Lecturer, Manipur College; Dr Maya Nepram, retired Assistant Professor, Pravabati College; and Ngasepam Binodini, retired Assistant Teacher, Lairikyengbam High School were honoured with shawls and citations.

President of the club, Manas Maisnam said that honouring retired teachers during September of every year is a permanent project of Lions Club of Imphal.

Past district governor Dr Gopimohan gave a brief speech on the history of Lions Club and significance of club permanent projects.

Later, the Peace Poster Contest was held on the theme, "Together As One".

Khundrakpam Chinglembi of Arena of Learning, Kongpal won the first prize of Rs 5000, sponsored by L Ibomcha, chairman Club Peace Poster Committee.

As a part of the club's permanent project 'Vision care', an eye check-up OPD was conducted and spectacle frames were donated to those in need.
