21 from state to attend I-Day celebration

Altogether 21 special invitees from Manipur, along with their families, would be attending the 78th Independence Day celebrations in New Delhi on August 15, 2024 .
These individuals are among over 6000 special guests from across the country invited by the Government of India to participate in this year's Independence Day festivities, to be held under the theme 'Viksit Bharat'.
According to PIB, Imphal, the 18 invitees from Manipur represent various segments of society.
They include students, women, youth, farmers, ASHA and Anganwadi workers, as well as representatives from NITI Aayog and Panchayati Raj Institutions.
Additionally, winners of the MyGov Independence Day Quiz from the state are also part of the distinguished group.
Among the invitees are four students from different schools, two ASHA workers, five individuals from the fields of culture and entrepreneurship, and a 'Lakhpati Didi'.
These guests will witness the grand ceremony at the Red Fort.
"The participation of these special guests is a testament to the government's efforts to include voices from all parts of the country and different walks of life in celebrating India's Independence," the PIB said in a release.
