Tree plantation drive held at Chanung Khul

Imphal, August 12 2026: As part of Lions Club International's ongoing environmental initiatives, members of the Lions Club of Imphal City planted 50 tree saplings at Chanung Khul, Imphal East, on Wednesday.

The plantation drive was carried out jointly with members of the Chanung Khul Development Committee.

The club members also tended to the trees that were planted by the club earlier, ensuring their proper upkeep.

The programme was led by Lions Club of Imphal City president Kangjam Chaoba Singh.

Environment Committee chairman Thiyam Mahendra Pratap Singh also took part in the drive.

At the event, club members stressed the importance of tree plantation and environmental conservation in tackling climate change and maintaining ecological balance.

They added that such community-based initiatives will be continued in different parts of the State in line with Lions Club International's service motto.

The Development Committee members of Chanung Khul appreciated the club's effort and assured cooperation in protecting the saplings planted in the locality.
