Senapati, February 12 2026: More than a thousand people gathered at the Asufii Ground in Punanamei, the hometown of Manipur Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho, for a grand thanksgiving ceremony held on Thursday in his honour.

The event, attended by church leaders, civil society organisations, village authorities and well-wishers from Mao, Poumai, Maram and neighbouring areas, reflected a heartfelt celebration of collective pride and gratitude.

Moderated by Ashipri Zho, Senior Advocate and President of the Nagaland Bar Association, the programme opened with hymns and prayers, setting a solemn and celebratory tone.

Several organisations and community groups felicitated the Deputy Chief Minister with traditional shawls, gifts, fruits and food items.

In the welcome address, speakers expressed gratitude to God and thanked all attendees for joining despite short notice.

They emphasised that Dikho's appointment was not just a personal achievement but a collective blessing for the community.

Speakers urged continued moral and public support, noting that assuming office marked the beginning of greater responsibility.

In his address, Deputy Chief Minister Losii Dikho welcomed leaders from various communities and organisations, stating that the gathering was a moment of gratitude rather than personal praise.

"Don't praise me, give thanks to God.

For all who are not capable, it is God who helps", said Dikho.

He acknowledged the support of the people of Mao, Poumai, Maram and the Karong constituency, while humbly admitting his shortcomings.

There are lots of shortcomings from my side.

Please forgive me and understand me, he said.

He added that he had contested elections three times and by the grace of God, the winning margin was high, attributing this success to the people.

Touching on development, Dikho informed the gathering that chopper services in the hill districts of Manipur would soon be introduced to improve connectivity and make travel more affordable.

On the issue of peace, he reiterated, "We will not fight any community.

The Nagas will remain neutral," expressing hope for contributing towards peace and reconciliation in the state.

He urged the public not to cease praying for unity and harmony.

In his blessing message, Rev A Pfokrelo, Executive Secretary of the MBCA, said that when a leader commits to serving society, the entire family shares that calling.

He emphasised that Dikho represents not only his village or constituency but the whole of Senapati and Manipur.

He shared reflections from Psalms 72 and 121.A deeply emotional moment unfolded during the thanksgiving prayer when church leaders called Losii Dikho and his family to the front, where they knelt together.

Surrounded by pastors, special prayers were offered for wisdom, protection and guidance.

The entire gathering stood in unity, creating a solemn and powerfill atmosphere.

The programme concluded with a closing prayer led by Rev Fr Jose Karippai, Parish Priest of St Mary's Church, Punanamei, marking a day of gratitude, unity and renewed commitment among the people.
