Imphal, June 11 2009: The committee form on the matter of killing of L Satish by a combined force of Thoubal police commandos and troops of Assam Rifles on May 18 today expressed disbelieved with the enquiry order on the killing issued by the government.

The committee has also warned the government that if the enquiry report which according them very limited with the estimation of possible lack of free and fair one, happened to be against the expectation of the people, they will not remain silent but intensified its agitation.

Earlier, a copy of the suspension order of five police commandos of Thoubal district, dated May 27, was handed over today by the authority of the police to L Sarat Singh, father of Late L.Satish Singh, who was allegedly killed in an encounter with security personnel.

The five suspended personnel were rifleman Holal Haokip of 7th Manipur Rifles, Thangyanlian Paite, DS Lamkang and S Tiken Kom of 3rd IRB and Mangthinlian Vaiphei of 4th IRB.

The suspension order No � IC/3 (341) 2009 � PHQ had not been given to him when he had met Manipur Governor Gurbachand Singh on Jun 3, said L.Sarat.

Director General of Police (DGP), Manipur, Y Joykumar informed the media today that an enquiry will be carried out by M.Karnajit Singh, IPS, IGP (Law & Order � 1), Manipur and it will be completed within one month's time.

The enquiry will also determine whether there has been any foul play in the death of L Satish and, if so, who were responsible.

Reacting to the order of the suspension of the five police commando personnel, convener of the committee Ksh Ibemu said in a press conference that the suspension order which was said to be issued on May 27 was a fake one citing that till the time of calling on with the state Governor on June 3, no such order was issued by the police department.

The order which stated to be issued on May 27 is a forged one, she alleged adding that this initial step of the government showed that there is something behind the screen.

The Joint Action Committee (JAC) formed against the killing of L.Satish and his father L.Sarat expressed dissatisfaction at the enquiry order as they feel that it will not be able to provide answer to whether Satish was killed in an encounter or was it a custodial death.

They demanded for a spot enquiry or judicial enquiry.
