Imphal, July 09 2026:
Assam Rifles conducted a comprehensive community outreach programme at Yumnam Khunou village in Imphal East district today aimed at bolstering security coordination and public confidence amid the prevailing security situation.
A total of 37 villagers, including 15 men and 22 women, participated in the interactive session.
Residents shared feedback on issues impacting their daily lives, farming activities, and access to essential public services.
During the dialogue, villagers raised concerns about restrictions on everyday movement, local safety, and the spread of unverified rumours during periods of tension in the valley.
Addressing the gathering, senior officials and troops of Assam Rifles briefed the community on ongoing security and humanitarian measures.
These include regular area domination patrols, enhanced deployment along vulnerable transit routes, and rapid response mechanisms.
The forces also sensitised residents on the importance of maintaining coordination with security agencies, verifying information before sharing, and promptly reporting suspicious movements to prevent public disorder.
Officials said the interaction helped strengthen mutual trust and paved the way for responsive security solutions to support regional normalcy and long-term development.
