Source: Chronicle News Service / DIPR

Imphal, September 08 2021: Chief minister N Biren has said that people should give a mandate for five more years to BJP only government for turning the state into 'Sana Leibak'.

Speaking as chief guest of the inauguration of Agro Market Complex constructed at an estimated cost of Rs 6.97 crore under NEC funding at Mayang Imphal Bazar cum Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav celebration held at N Tomchou Higher Secondary School Ground on Wednesday, N Biren informed that construction of the market complex was completed in 2020 but the inauguration delayed due to the prevailing pandemic.

He emphasised that leaders have great responsibilities to bring a nation to the path of prosperity and progress.

As such, leaders should avoid fabrication and never speak lies to the people, he said, while urging the people to elect those candidates who aspire to serve them with sincerity.

N Biren asserted that the BJP-led government is working for an India where there is equal development of all without any prejudice towards any community or group.

Some political parties spread false rumours that BJP is a communal party, but in the last four and half years of BJP rule in the state there been no unwanted incident between Meitei and Meitei Pangal, he said.

Emphasising that the state government has been working hard day and night to tackle Covid 19 pandemic, N Biren said that almost all the districts now have oxygen plants.

Vaccination has been intensified and around 60 per cent of the people whose age is 18 years and above have received first dose so far.

As saving life is more important, schools and colleges have not yet been reopened, the chief minister said.

Stating that the present state government has been working hard to end people's woes, he said that many noble schemes have been introduced in this regard.

The CM pointed out that CMHT health cards had been issued to around 4.5 lakh households besides providing benefits to many differently-abled persons under the CMST scheme.

Mentioning that Centre has approved Rs 3050 crore for the state to implement Jal Jeevan Mission - Har Ghar Jal to provide tap water to all the households by 2024, he informed that a water supply scheme worth Rs 12.5 crore would be taken up in Mayang Imphal AC soon.

Around 50 per cent of the total households of Manipur are getting tap water now, he claimed.

N Biren further appealed to the public to ensure election of 34-35 BJP MLAs in the next election so as to bring a stable government in the state.

If that happens, BJP in the next five years will ensure that the state becomes developed in every aspect.

Agriculture minister O Lukhoi, who also attended the programme, said that the newly inaugurated market complex would be one of the best markets in the entire state.

He also urged the people to look after it as their own property.

Education minister S Rajen, CAF & PD minister Th Satyabrata, Manipur Legislative Assembly deputy speaker K Robindro, MANIDCO chairman Dr Radheshyam Yumnam, Manipur Building and Other Construction Workers' Welfare Board chairman H Dingo, Manipur State Haj Committee chairperson Abdus Salam and commissioner (Agriculture) M Joy were also present during the programme.

Earlier, the chief minister accompanied by deputy speaker K Robindro and health director Dr K Rajo inspected the site for the construction of Imphal West District Hospital at Mayang Imphal Konchak which is to be built at a cost of Rs 64 crore by Manipur Industrial Development Corporation (MANIDCO) as implementing agency with funding under North East Special Infrastructure Development Scheme (NESIDS) .
