United College Lambung holds Induction programme

Chandel, August 08 2026: United College Lambung, Chandel, on Friday organised an induction programme for newly admitted first-semester students of the BA and BSc departments at the Science Seminar Hall.

The programme, compered by Ng Toshing Genevieve, Assistant Professor in the Department of Education, began with a welcome address by Principal Dr Danney Chara, who warmly welcomed the freshers and encouraged them to make the best use of the opportunities available during their academic journey at the institution.

The students were also addressed by Prof RK Hemanta, Coordinator of the Academic and Admission Committee and faculty member of the Department of Geology; Dr Abdul Salam, Assistant Professor in the Department of Political Science and Research Guide; and Dr Angpong Augustine Roel, NSS Programme Officer and Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Education.

The speakers emphasised the importance of academic excellence, discipline, research, extracurricular activities and community service in shaping the overall personality of students.

As part of the programme, Rithahring Daryal and Langhu Javi were felicitated for securing first positions in the Slam Poetry and Painting competitions, respectively, during the Nasha Mukti Bharat Abhiyan organised by My Bharat Kendra, Chandel District, at South East Manipur College, Kapam, on July 31 .

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Vice-Principal and Associate Professor Dorendro Takhellambam, who expressed gratitude to the organisers, faculty members and students for making the event a success.
