Lamlai MLA lays foundation for new community hall at Sabungkhok Khunou

Imphal, June 08 2026: Lamlai AC MLA Kh Ibomcha today said that as a public representative he works for the people without expecting electoral gains, while laying the foundation stone for a new community hall at Sabungkhok Khunou.

The event was attended by Tellou Chana Seijang Gram Panchayat Chairperson W Herojit and local residents.

At the event, villagers recalled that the old community hall had become dilapidated and leaked during rains.

During times of conflict, residents had also used it as a shelter.

Following their request to the MLA for a new hall, he readily agreed, for which they expressed gratitude.

Addressing the gathering, Kh Ibomcha said constructing the hall for the needy residents of Sabungkhok Khunou was his duty as the constituency's MLA .

"No one should undertake development work merely to secure votes.

I have never told anyone to vote in exchange for a community hall", he stated.

He added that an MLA must share in the people's hardships.

"Seeing the needs of the public, I am trying to bring what our area lacks.

I appeal to everyone to extend support so we can work together for progress", Kh Ibomcha said.
