Over 300 avail services at health camp in MU

Imphal, August 07 2026: More than 300 students, faculty members, officers, staff, research scholars and local residents benefited from a Free Multi-Speciality Health Camp organised at the Manipur University Health Centre on Friday.

Jointly organised by the Manipur University Health Centre (MUHC), Manipur University Students' Union (MUSU) and Shija Hospitals & Research Institute, Langol, the camp aimed to promote preventive healthcare and overall well-being of the university community.

A 25-member team from Shija Hospitals, including eight specialist doctors from Medicine, ENT, Gynaecology, Psychiatry, Dermatology, Ophthalmology and other departments, along with nursing officers, optometrists, counsellors and interns, provided consultations.

They were supported by a 12-member MUHC team comprising the Medical Officer, Dental Surgeon, Physiotherapist, Pharmacist and nurses.

Vice Chancellor (In-Charge) Prof RK Hemakumar Singh visited the camp and lauded the initiative, stating that health and well-being of students and staff are vital for academic growth.

MUHC Medical Officer Dr L Pinky Devi said such camps promote preventive care and a healthier academic environment.

MUSU representatives and participants also appreciated the initiative and urged for more such camps in future.
