Imphal, July 07 2026: Lamlai AC MLA Kh Ibomcha has begun distributing water pumps to villages along the Iril riverbank under Lamlai Assembly Constituency that could not take up cultivation this year due to delayed monsoon.

On Tuesday, pumps were handed over to farmers of Yourabung, Nungoi and Dungaipajang.

Expressing hope, Kh Ibomcha said the initiative to provide irrigation support to farmers will ensure there is no water shortage for paddy cultivation this year.

At the event, villagers said no MLA had earlier provided pumps to the riverbank villages after elections.

They welcomed the move and expressed happiness that the assistance will help them start farming without delay.
