CGI sheets, relief materials donated to hailstorm affected families

Bishnupur, July 07 2024: In a humanitarian response, People's Resource Development Association Bishnupur in collaboration with Action Aid India have donated roofing sheets and relief materials to 154 selected households from Bishnupur affected by the recent hailstorm and heavy rains.

The relief distribution programme was held at Ibudhou Leibak Mapu Community Hall at Sinusiphai.

The affected families hailing from Thamnapokpi, Naranseina, Sunusiphai and Phubala were each given 12 roofing sheets (40mm x 9 feet), one mosquito net, one tarpaulin sheet (15 x 12 feet), one sleeping mat and one torch light, altogether worth Rs 11,458.So far, Rs 8000 each have been donated to 244 affected families from ten villages and goods worth Rs 11,458 have been donated to 300 families.

Additionally, ten awareness programmes have been conducted.

L Suranjoy, secretary, Peoples' Resource Development Association Bishnupur assured to provide similar relief in the future in times of natural disasters.
