Imphal, July 06 2026:
Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), Manipur state president Khoirom Deepu has said that youth should enter politics to build a society based on ideas and service, not to seek funds or benefits from the Centre through national parties.
He was speaking at a welfare programme held at the Blind Home for Girls, Takyel yesterday to mark the 80th birth anniversary of late Union Minister Ram Vilas Paswan.
As part of the observance, the party distributed study materials and food items to the inmates.
Deepu said LJP (RV) is committed to social work and that helping the needy is not linked to holding political office.
"Helping the needy has been my commitment even before I formally joined LJP (RV)", he said.
Deepu added that he joined the party inspired by Union Minister Chirag Paswan's emphasis on youth, women empowerment & development.
LJP (RV) Mahila state president Konthoujam Sonia said the party will continue to take up programmes for youth and women in the coming days.
