Imphal, July 06 2024:
Senapati District Students' Association (SDSA) has issued a statement clarifying on the misinformation being circulating regarding imposition of economic blockade on the NH-2 by it.
According to SDSA, a voice message is being circulated falsely claiming that the association has announced an economic blockade.
This message has caused unnecessary panic and concern among the public.
In a statement, SDSA firmly stated that these rumours are entirely baseless and unfounded.
No statement or notification regarding imposition of economic blockade has been issued by the association, the statement clarified while urging everyone to remain calm and not to spread or believe in such misinformation.
The association also requested all residents to verify any information from credible sources before sharing it further.
It appealed to the citizens to ensure that the community remains informed and united against rumours and misinformation.
Mention may be made that on Saturday morning, a voice message purportedly recorded on Friday went viral on social media.
The message informed truck drivers about an alleged decision taken by SDSA to impose an economic blockade along NH 2 starting Monday.
It advised truck drivers to make necessary preparations to avoid being caught in the blockade.
