CPI Heirok holds 52nd annual conference

The Communist Party of India (CPI), Heirok Local Council, convened its 52nd annual conference on Monday at the residence of Ningthoujam Lokendra at Heirok Pt-II Maning Leikai.
The conference was attended by CPI State Secretary A Nabachandra, Asst Secretary S Sorojini Devi; CPI State executive member L Sotinkumar; CPI leader from Heirok, N Lokendro; CPI Heirok Local former secretaries M Shyamkesho Meitei; Th Mohon; and local leader N Muhindro as presidium members.
During the meeting, several resolutions were adopted unanimously.
Among the key resolutions include, the council opposing the conduct of Census before the updation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC), and resolved to participate in any related activities initiated by district and State CPI units in this regard.
The conference also resolved to urge the government to ensure the resettlement of internally displaced persons (IDPs) to their original homes, stating that they have endured prolonged hardship in relief camps.
It further decided not to participate in the Census process until the displaced persons are properly rehabilitated.
The session also witnessed the presentation and deliberation of organisational draft reports, focusing on strengthening party activities.
The conference concluded with a reaffirmation of the party's commitment to addressing key socio-political issues affecting the people.
