Conduct survey and assist: Assn to Govt

All Manipur Printing Technologists' Association has urged the state government to conduct a survey to include all the printing presses and related establishments which suffered damages by the recent flash flood for extending necessary assistance.
In a press meet held at the Association's temporary office in Uripok Khaidem Leikai, here, on Wednesday, Association president Y Samarendra said that the flash flood triggered by the cyclone Remal has greatly impacted the state.
Printing presses as well as related shops and warehouses in Paona Keithel, Thangal Keithel, Governor Road, BT Road, Rupmahal Tank, Uripok, Sagolband, Porompat, Nagamapal, Wahengbam Leikai, Dewlahland, Keishamthong, Khagempali, Chingmeirong and Nagaram were significantly affected.
He continued that around 20 printing presses are operating along Paona Keithel, Governor Road with around 10 godowns storing printing related materials and papers.
On top of this, around 16 printing presses, printing shops and warehouses in Uripok, Sagolband, Chingmeirong, Nagamapal, Wahengbam Leikai, Dewlahland, Keishamthong, Khagempali, Porompat and Nagaram will not be able to commence work for a long time with more than half of the materials stored in these godowns left completely irrecoverable.
As such, he drew the attention of the government to help alleviate some of their sufferings.
Meanwhile, All India Federation of Master Printer, New Delhi and All Manipur Printing Technologists Association, Imphal will be organising a conference titled 'Romancing Print 2024; Empowering Local Printers', at NIELIT Imphal on June 9 and 10.As such, Samarendra appealed to all printing and press related people to attend the conference positively.
